TorFX chose LARF as their company charity for January, and raised an awesome £300, with a sponsored dress-down day.
TorFX is an international currency transfer provider, with offices in London and Australia. However, their head office is right here in Penzance. They specialise in helping individuals and businesses move money abroad, often to fund emigration or foreign property purchases and investments.
They have been operating since 2004, and every month they raise money for a different local or national charity through sponsored dress down days. All staff nominate the charities they’d like to support at the start of the year, and Larf was nominated by several people this time around. Many of the Penzance staff are aware of Rosie’s and Lauren’s stories, and the team were really proud to support a charity that does such amazing work in their memories.
In addition to raising money for us they also published a post on their website’s blog, inviting further donations. You can read the blog here: https://blog.torfx.com/company-news/januarys-sponsored-charity-larf-supporting-young-people-with-leukaemia-and-cancer/
This means that there may be even more money raised for the young people we support, but also that any families which find themselves with a diagnosis of cancer will know where to find us. You will understand why we say we hope NOT to see any of them, although they’re clearly lovely people!
