Rosie’s birthday coffee morning

Rosie’s birthday coffee morning

Once again, there will be a coffee morning in honour of Rosie’s birthday, full of cake, tea and happy memories of Rosie. This year it will be on Saturday August 5th, from 10am till 2pm, at Terry and Keith’s house, 29 Parc Letta, Heamoor.  Terry is Rosie’s grandmother, and has run a coffee morning near her birthday for the last 3 years, raising over £1,000 every time.  That’s a LOT of cake! This year, Terry’s other grandchildren have decided to collect unwanted toys and hold a toy sale, so please do bring your children, and their pocket money too!   Rosie’s birthday was August 8th, and the occasion is usually marked by her family and friends getting together.  She gets a rousing round of ‘Happy Birthday’ sung to her, and a family friend sings White Rose. This is a famous Cornish song, if you’ve not heard it before, in memory of a young lady who has passed on, and promising to remember her always. The chorus says: I love the White Rose in its splendour I love the White Rose in its bloom I love the White Rose, so fair as she grows. It’s the rose that reminds me of you.   Always,...

Family Fun Day Marazion

Family Fun Day Marazion

Come on down to Marazion on Saturday 22nd July from 10am for our annual Marazion Family Fun Day. The fun starts at 10am, and there will be a 6-a-side knockout cricket tournament, sandcastle competition, barbeques, and our famous water slide.  Fun for all ages! This even is one of our major fundraising occasions every year, and is well supported by the people of Marazion – everyone is welcome to go along, and take part. If you’re interested in entering a team in the cricket tournament, it costs only £12 per team, and you must register before 10am on the day.  Bookings can be made through the King’s Arms, in Marazion, if you’re keen. From 6pm, the action will transfer into the pub, where there will be an auction, including an England shirt signed by rugby star Jack Nowell, and First train tickets. This event has been organised by Amy Stains, a freind of Rosie’s, for several years, and she has worked hard to make it bigger and better every year.  Lets see if we can make the 2017 event the best yet!  Come along, bring your friends, bring your purses and wallets, and have some fun for a great...
